Kid of the Week
In a few weeks we will begin our classroom “Kid of the Week”. Each week, one child will be dubbed the Kid of the Week. Please refer to the Kid of the Week schedule for your child’s assigned week. The Kid of the Week will be asked to complete different tasks each night during his/her special week. They will then share his/her specified items with his/her classmates each day as a wonderful way for all of us to learn about one another and, at the same time, feel so very special.
The Kid of the Week’s activities include:
On the preceding Friday- The Kid of the Week will take home the “Kid of the Week” folder. Over the weekend, the child and his/her family will gather approximately 6 photos of himself/herself and his/her family to share with the class. Also, the Kid of the Week and his/her family should complete the autobiographical sheet. The folder with the completed information and photos should be returned to school with your child on Monday (or the first day that school is in session for the next week if school is not in session on Monday).
Monday- The Kid of the Week will share his/her photos and autobiographical sheet with his/her classmates.
Tuesday- The Kid of the Week will bring in his/her favorite book for the class to read and enjoy together.
Wednesday- The Kid of the Week will bring his/her favorite toy to school and tell us about it.
Thursday- The Kid of the Week will bring in his/her hobby or interest. Also, the Mystery Bag will be sent home with the Kid of the Week. The Kid of the Week will put an unidentified item in the Mystery Bag to play the 20-question game with his/her classmates on Friday.
Friday- The Kid of the Week will bring in the Mystery Bag and the class to attempt to guess the bag’s contents by playing 20-questions.
Please note that if for some reason we are not in school on a given day for any reason or your child is absent on one of the day’s during his/her reign, we will make up that day’s particular activity later in the week.
